I will collect Personally Identifiable Information from you only if you voluntarily provide this information to me for specific purposes. This Privacy Policy explains when I collect any Personal Information from you, why I collect it, how I will use or not use that information, and steps I take to secure and protect that information.

Personal Information I May Collect and How I Use It

“Personally Identifiable Information,” as used in US privacy law and information security, is defined as information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. I do not collect your Personal Information without your express permission. When and why I collect this information, and how I use that information may include—

Contact Me form — When you use the secure Contact Me form on this website, your name and email address are required along with your message to me. I collect that information so that I know who is contacting me and so that I may reply to your inquiry. I will not use this information for any other purpose, and you will not be added to any lists as a result of sending me a message from this website.

Subscribe to my eMail List — When you Subscribe to my Mailing List using the secure form on this website, you will give me your email address and, optionally, your name, which is submitted to the trusted service provider I use to manage my Mailing List. This entire process is encrypted and secure. I will use this subscription information to send you an occasional email as I update my website, or as I promote new features, services or products as they are added to this site. You may expect such an email from me every month or two. You will never receive unsolicited or unexpected emails from me as a result of subscribing to my Mailing List. Any informative or promotional emails I send to you will include a clear unsubscribe link with instructions included at the bottom of each email.
  • Subscribing: “Double Opt-In” Consent. When you subscribe to my Mailing List you will immediately receive an email at the address you provided, asking you to confirm your subscription. Only by clicking on the link provided in that email will your name and email address be added to my list. This process is known as “double opt-in” and provides an added layer of privacy and is recommended protocol to ensure that no one else can add you to my list without your knowledge or consent.
  • Unsubscribing: Withdrawing Your Consent. If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for me to contact you, and for the continued storage, use or disclosure of your information, at any time, by clicking on the link(s) provided in your opt-in email or any future promotional emails you receive from me. Optionally, you may contact me at through this website, or send me a letter at the address found at the end of this policy, below.
Online Purchases — When you buy something from me or send me money you will be asked during the process for Personal Information which could include your name, email address, and conditionally, your shipping address (only if your transaction requires that I mail or ship you an item) necessary in order to complete the sale or transaction. These transactions are conducted on the PayPal website and subject to their Privacy Policies and Terms and Conditions. The Personal Information you provide for an online purchase will be used only to fulfill your order and you will not be added to any lists or receive unsolicited or unexpected correspondence from me.

How I Protect Your Information

I have adopted customary and appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, or transaction information and data passed through this website.

SSL Encryption — This website utilizes a domain-validated SSL certificate issued by Comodo, a trusted SSL Certificate Authority. This certificate supports up to 256-bit encryption and 2048-bit signature, providing the maximum benefit of the highest-level of security available. These SSL (“Secure Socket Layer”) certificates are inherently trusted by over 99% of the current Internet population, along with most popular mobile devices worldwide.

HTTPS Always On — Traditionally, SSL protected pages have been invoked on most websites only at the point when personal information is collected from you, for example, when filling out a form or completing a transaction online. However, in August 2014, Google announced its new initiative, originally advanced by The Electronic Frontier Foundation, to encourage website owners to provide SSL protection for the entire site browsing experience. I support this initiative, it makes sense and I have implemented this on my website. With HTTPS Always On, every single page, image, cookie, data or code file necessary to transmit and present a webpage from my server to your screen is SSL encrypted. This adds another level of protection to your browsing experience. Your browser will display the “https:” security protocol and a padlock icon showing that every page you are visiting is encrypted and secure (varies by browser).

Sharing or Disclosing Your Personal Information

I will never sell, trade, or rent your Personal Information to others. I do not buy email lists or lists of any kind nor do I harvest information from other sources. I may share generic aggregated demographic data not linked to any Personally Identifiying Information regarding visitors and users with trusted service providers or affiliates for the purposes outlined in these Policies.

I may disclose your Personal Information if I am required to do so by law or court order, or if you violate my Terms of Service.

Third Party Service Providers — I use third party service providers to help me operate this website or administer activities on its behalf, such as sending emails or completing transactions. I may share your information with these third parties solely for those limited purposes. In general, the third-party providers used by me will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to you and me.

Please note that certain third-party service providers, such as payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information I am required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. For these providers, I recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which they will handle your personal information.

Non-Personal Information

I may collect non-personal information about users whenever they interact with my site. Non-personal information may include technical information about your means of connection to my site, such as computer type, operating system, browser type, language preference, referring site, geographical location, and date and time of each visitor request.

Web Browser Cookies

My site uses “cookies” to enhance you browsing experience. A cookie is a small piece of information sent as a plain text file by a website you visit and stored by your computer’s browser. All websites use cookies, which are used to remember information about your visit, such as random session identifier tags or other settings. Cookies can be important and without them, using the Internet could be a much more frustrating experience.

Every time you load a page from this website your browser interacts with my server to send or receive cookie information. The cookies I use on this website are used to improve your browsing experience, for website traffic analytics, and to allow certain features to be enabled. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies you nor do they contain sensitive information.

Your browser software offers you the ability to turn off or reject cookies. If you turn off your browser cookies, then many features of this website will no longer function for you, for example, you will not be able to listen to any audio albums or view any slideshows on this site, and you will not be able to send me emails or make purchases with cookies disabled.

Third Party Cookies — This website allows third-party cookies to be installed on your computer only by Trusted Service Providers. These third party cookies are anonymous and cannot be used to identify individuals nor do they contain any Personal Information.

I have no access to third party cookies and third party organizations have no access to mine. In this context, a “Trusted Service Provider” is defined as one that complies with the Network Advertising Initiative’s (NAI’s) and the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA’s) Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising, and that implements best practices for opt-outs and notifications.

For more information about these third-party cookies, please visit my Systemic Opt-Out page to review these cookies and methods to selectively or globally opt-out of receiving them.

JavaScript

This website uses JavaScript to enhance your browsing experience. JavaScript is a programming language commonly used to create interactive effects within web browsers. JavaScript is a client-side scripting language, which means the code is processed by your computer’s web browser rather than on the website’s server. This means JavaScript functions can run after a webpage has loaded without communicating with the server.

For example, a JavaScript function may check a web form before it is submitted to make sure all the required fields have been filled out with valid information. A live example of JavaScript code in action can be seen in this Privacy Policy, in the above section discussing Browser Cookies; in that section, the link provided to you to view your browser’s cookies is enabled by calling a JavaScript function. When you click that link, the JavaScript function dynamically reads your cookies and assembles a table for viewing, then displays that table to your screen.

The JavaScripts I use on this website are intended to streamline and enhance your browsing experience. These scripts do not collect information that identifies you nor do they use sensitive information of any kind.

Your browser software offers you the ability to turn off JavaScript. If you turn off JavaScript, then many features of this website will no longer function for you, for example, you will not be able to listen to any audio albums or view any slideshows on this site, and you will be unable to complete or submit any form on this site with JavaScript disabled.

Should a Data Breach Occur

In the unlikely event that a breach of data security should occur, I will notify affected users within 7 business days of discovery with details of the breach, how it affects you, and steps I have taken to ensure the integrity of your Personal Information.

I encourage users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how I am helping to protect the personal information I collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically and become aware of modifications, except as noted.
